"A Modern Affair"...

Love these images of a modern small bathroom after its remodel...The glass subway tiles are so small but we still see the horizontal lines floating gracefully from side to side. Now, the entire wall space can be covered by tile or we can leave one wall painted or with wallpaper.  Updating the cabinets is a must, undermount or bowl sinks are a plus and to finalized a nice unusual flooring is necessary...look at this pebble tiles, they have such much Zen...

"Adding Artwork"...

This master bedroom was finished but client came back asking for more little details...The request is to add artwork above headboard.  Sometimes projects are finished according to customers ideas and you think you are done but there's more to add.  It's refreshing to continue to add decorative items and continue with the theme/design idea and scale.  The prints are small 14 inches wide by about 22 long.  They are dry grasses, which add such an organic feel to this Elegant-Shabby room!  {more to come}

"Brown Glamour"...

Brown is a color which many customers are afraid off.  They think of it as dirty and old fashioned.  Most of the comments I always hear are, it reminds me of the 1970's...Well, get into the groove and check out the new glamorous brown in this image.  Mixed with cream tones, a large abstract spiderweb rug sets the tone for design.  Don't forget the modern chandelier, which shimmers and sets the tone and lighting in this space.  By the way, this concept of color and coordination can be achieved with just about any colors...pick your favorite and re-invent.

"Over the Mantel"...

I love simplicity and creativity and this mantel's idea is on my list of favorites.  The clock is simply painted, how cute is that!

"Designing For The Season"...

Autumn is one of my favorite seasons of the year...and so are these colors.  I love everything about this room, from the chocolate brown small print ottoman to the club chair with its large floral pattern.  The color palette is a warm blue/turquoise that is so trendy.  Introducing the large horizontal stripes on the drapes, helps balance all of the textiles.  A natural sea grass area rug, anchors the room and makes it come alive!

"Before and After"...

There are simple solutions when it comes to redesigning a room.  Many times we may end up buying new furniture or re-upholstering classic pieces such as the slip on chairs with a coral pattern.  The first step would be to paint the entire room and that way the architectural features will pop out.  Instead of a window seat, a wall to wall storage unit was built, allowing more room for storage.  Round tables always look better in a room than any other size, specially when it comes to a sitting area.  Throw a zebra rug and recycle some tables, new accessories in the fireplace and voila!

"MBR Neutrals"...

I adore master bedrooms that are designed with neutral colors...basically I love this one done almost all in white.  The clean lines of the black furniture brings out all the layers of textiles on the bed and window treatments.  I really don't mind at all sleeping here.  Also, love the sitting area by the foot of the bed.  Why not utilized the space and make it into a conversation area. In this space, it works!

"The New Brown"...cappuchino paint color

If you have white or shabby furniture like in image and want a change of scenery, why not paint the master bedroom with a new tone of brown.  Brown paint gives an elegant look and an organic feel to the space.  Too dark looks very strong and may hide architectural features, like this tray ceiling.  By introducing a warm and creamy touch of brown on the walls, there is the possibility of introducing your favorite accent colors.  Keep it simple!

"Bubbles"...

Bubbles everywhere...from a simple black and white pillow to a beautiful classic chandelier to an adorable oval mirror.  The shapes are so soft and clear, that repeating them is a must!

"Kitchen Knobs"...

Loving this kitchen knobs from Anthropology!  This is one of the best and easy changes we can give a kitchen or bathroom...even a piece of furniture.  My favourite is the owl and also the monogram.  Wait, I like them all!

"Color Combination"...navy and orange

The issue is always that sometimes we are afraid of color, or should I say, color combination.  Decorating this kids room is easy as 1~2~3.  Following the plan is not difficult @ all, the theme is modern shapes and the colors are so bold.  Navy offsets orange quite well.  Navy is a rich color, especially when mixed with white.  The orange custom leather twin headboards have the perfect tone to add color, texture and interest.  The back wall is what anchors the entire design.

"Flea market Find"...

Wallpaper can make miracles...and this flea market cabinet was turned into a cute organizer for jewels.  A funky coat of acrylic non toxic paint and some left over wallpaper remnant will do the trick.  An alternative to wallpaper would be a pretty gift wrap paper!

"Volume and Height"...

This beautiful dining room may be an issue for some because of its high ceiling lines but an elegant and old fashion trick solves the problem.  By installing crown moulding at a lower level and painting it a shimmering golden green colour, makes it elegant and adds interest.  All furniture, lighting, accessories and textiles are traditional but finished in a awesome combination!

"Collecting And Displaying"...

Collecting and displaying your favorite or favourites fine china collections, is as easy as a layered cake.  You can mix colors of the same tone, and arrange them by size and shape.  Little ones go in front and may be large plates or chargers will be place in the back.  Since I love Toile pattern, I found this images which displays several way to accomplish a look!  My china is from Churchill and is black and white but my corner cabinet is a problem to display.  I will try to work on this project this Autumn and will post!

"Aqua"..strong and bold

It's funny but I love color...I've never been afraid to use it in so many facets of interior design.  Whether in furnishings, textiles or walls, aqua is strong and bold color.

"Bottles"...

Love this idea of collecting bottles...if you have or find old bottles of milk, or perfume or even liquor one, keep them.  Bottles may have a very special design and can make a nice decorative accessory, plus is another way to recycle!

"Time For Change"...

I am getting the itch for change...it's time to re-do some rooms in the house. The paint on the walls look worn out or faded.  The Curtains are an old Robert Allen Silk/Taffeta and I want a fresh look.  Have to mix the old with the new, meaning, furniture stays.  I have to be creative, for example, my dining room chairs are from Design Masters, they are super comfortable parsons chairs with beautiful modern exposed lets, think I will do a slip cover and call it new.  The color palette will be a green/yellow or may be a mint green/yellow.  

Got to get inspired...

Can't help to think of the idea of making lampshades utilizing this stone idea and craftsmanship!   I will take any of this cute little purses anytime...Great Day to all.

"Pots and Plates"...

My style has always being very eclectic, so if I am designing a modern space; I may throw one of this Moroccan Plates or Vases into the design.  I will pull solid colors and unusual minimalistic textiles and large scale furnishings.  Just love the strong turquoise mixed with the greens.  May be I will pull out my Moroccan accessories and re-do the fireplace Moroccan Style...
