"European Neutrals"...

My friend and I were talking about Europe and the way design is treated.  The exquisite taste and flair to mix antiques with more transitional furnishings.  I love the soft cream tones and the layers, especially by the Fireplace. I also like the slip covered chairs with stamped words.  It's just details like these which makes a house so warm and cozy.

Loving this bedroom for the striking mix of colors, furnishings and textiles.  The strong blue play off the black busy floral fabric on the drapes like a violin.  Keeping the bedding neutral allows to add some fun leopard print pillows and also makes the traditional furniture pop!

"Loving Flowers"...

I"m loving this flower arrangement...yes it's silk.  These loving flowers are calla Lillie's stacked up in a very modern rectangular vase.  It's the linear stacking way these are organized what makes the style so pretty.  Also, these Lillie's are the smaller ones and they are a light green.

"Storage"...some solutions

Storage is a problem for lots of us.  I love this image because of the idea but just look at the detail on the boxes {Cow Hide}.  This room is a mix of traditional pieces, mixed with some modern accessories and even animal prints, such as the rug!  Very eclectic...

Friday At Last...and always finding cute ideas to post.  This week I was emphasizing some color trends from market and turquoise was one important tone.  A cute little boudoir pillow with an owl is just adorable.  Brown and White, definitely coordinate perfect...find accessories that are fun!

"Color Trend"...soft blue

I have completely fallen in love with this design.  From top to bottom, there's an elegance mixed with a relaxing style I would be looking for...The carpet looks from Stark, having a pattern on the floor is nothing to be afraid for.  The vaulted ceiling draws attention but by keeping it simple white.  The furnishings are tone on tone, we will see lots of furniture this year with a solid body and a contrasting piping or welt.  The case goods must be black with an oriental flair.  Separate sitting areas makes this room more fun...

"Mixing Colors & Textures"...

Mixing colors and textures is a must when it comes to design.  One of the color trends for this year, as I mentioned in yesterdays blog is Turquoise.  This is the new hip neutral which will be seen along with gray.  Turquoise can be molded into a soft and delicate palette or can be very strong and bold.  I love the simplicity of this cozy reading corner.  A simple pillow and throw has just the right amount of color and interest to this chaise lounge!

"Relaxing Moments"...starting the year

This is a good way to start our brand new year...relaxing moments.  The stress of social, health and personal issues should be thrown out the window or let drain like water.  This image is the style I would like to concentrate this year.  Notice the quality and thickness of the hardware holding the shower curtain.  The mosaic tiles are so far apart like stars in the sky.  This is a good example for the color trend for this year...turquoise.

Every Friday I love to blog about pillows because it's incredible the amount of styles, textures and the design imagination that's out there!  This knitted or crochet pillow is absolutely beautiful and easy to install. the buttons act like an accessory in perfect coordination and contrast.  Just love it!

"My favorite"...colors

There's something about blue, yellow and white that makes me feel rejuvenated!  These fresh and happy colors and the combination of textiles and funky objects is what makes a room.  It's what gives a space personality and definition...Last furniture market was about bringing back the blues, creams and the gray tones...more next week.
