"A Boy's World"...
I have to redecorate my son's room again. For the last few years, I've been making small changes to the original nursery room. It's time to make a transition to a more of a teenager style, still conserving a fun mystical space. I completely fell in love with this picture and will be my inspiration for the project. I have to work with traditional dark wood furniture vs. the colored bed shown but the window shade and the planet system suspended from the ceiling. The idea touched my heart...

In a small narrow dining room area, you can get away with a large dining room set. One trick is that instead of using a big China Cabinet, settle for a small Buffet or Chest. Image shows a smaller scale cabinet with an over sized mirror. This will give plenty of room to place the two arm chairs. One of the reasons I like this traditional style is the calming color that was used throughout. From the beautiful wallpaper to the stripe fabric on the chairs, to the area rug; the tones are in continuous harmony!

"Navy Blue & White"...continuation
Where has this week gone! I haven't been on my site for a few days and I really miss writing. There's a rush of people wanting to decorate their homes, and I am caught up with new projects.
On Monday, I was complementing the new color trend combination of Navy Blue and White. These images shows my point of view. Don't be afraid to mix dark furniture pieces with a casual but ornate shell mirror.
Use accent colors such as coral, to give a little punch. The bead board on the walls, gives the home a very Beach Shabby look. A sisal rug is a must and also slip cover furniture if possible. This will complete the look.
Happy Thursday!

"Navy Blue & White"...combination
My friend just revisited a furniture market and came back with great ideas about mixing colors and textures. See attached image, how exquisite the navy grass cloth wall paper looks against white columns and base boards. Utilizing strong bold colors such as this one is great because it makes such an elegant style. The combination of the wrought iron console and the symmetry of the lamps gives this entry way a very warm welcome!
More Navy-White to come...happy Monday

"Bongo"...bar stools
All right, I wanted to start the week blogging about unusual shaped furniture. Not only I feel these bar stools look like an art museum piece, but they are beautiful and functional too. The Bongo bar stool is design to swivel, it also provides you with a nice chrome foot rest. These funky forms are made of molded polyethylene. Made in Italy, design with Style for a modern home.
Enjoy!
