"Pillow Talk"...belt a pillow
Bored of the look of your current pillows...
A small design change is possible by using a belt! This is a fun project to do for the fall season. The brown tones and the mix of stripes makes this look very rich.
Happy Friday!

Just Blue...
Okay,
Indigo Blue...Navy...Denim...mixed with a cream or white background is the most beautiful/elegant mix! {in my opinion}. Blue makes me think of France, Morocco or an Island of the coast of Greece. How that translate into our homes is unique. Color trends vary such much pending upon fashion. Fashion evolves upon the creativity of designers who travel the world to get inspired. Or sometimes it just takes a pair of blue jeans to create something different.
I fell in love with this board and the indigo blue message behind it.
ps. never be afraid of color!

2014 High Point Furniture Market "highlights"
Shape is an important word for the furniture design during this Furniture Market. Some of the highlights are these chairs, which by the way are stylish and super comfortable. My favorite is by Caracole, a modern take on a traditional wing chair. One of the things I adore about this particular chair is the back has a contiguous radius, leaving the fabric pattern completely expose...no seams!
Lucite is here to stay...from furniture to lots of window treatment hardware in Lucite or even real glass!
more to come!

Wallpaper Trends...
Small bathrooms or powder rooms seem to be a difficult design project to do but in reality is where we can let our imagination and budget expand. Love this bathroom wallpaper with its large scale geometric shape. Mixed with a black and white vintage mini mosaic, a carrara marble top which is a classic and a crispy white updated toilet. Notice how the shape of the faucets blend so well with the mirror...is pure elegance!
Happy Tuesday

From Drab to Modern Coastal
Before, the furniture was out of scale, and too dark for Florida. On this project I suggested to paint the walls and redo an accent wall of mosaic tiles to give a traditional home a more modern look. The results are just what the client wanted. A space that reflect their personality and style. The overall scale is perfect. One design obstacle or problem was how to treat the high ceiling and specially a long wall in which the sofa is almost touching the wall. We found this set of 9 prints which depicts a tropical horizon...it was the perfect balance. Normally I would not design or place a sofa so close to wall but this was the best layout. The coffee table is a large chunky square with 4 small ottomans on casters which can be pulled anywhere in the room. These ottomans by the way, have storage inside...so is perfect to conceal pillows, games, or blankets. The large coastal collection rug dressed the wood floors quite well too!

Shower Curtains...why not
It's been an amazing summer so far...lots of time with family but also getting busy with Dress My Shade. We are launching curtains and pillows to coordinate with lamp shades collections, so lots of hard work ahead.
Because of wonderful clients like Jeniffer, ideas flow back and forth and hope the end result will be just beautiful. Attached is a mini presentation for a baby's room. This Toile bunny pattern is just gorgeous...100% Egyptian Cotton, soft and elegant will make great drapes.

Something New...Something Shabby...Something Different. We are currently working on adding more patterns to our Dress My Shade lampshade collection. This one is very special because of the texture of the fabric. Not to mentioned, the random large pattern was difficult to work with but the final product is really cute.
Check it out on Etsy!

Pillow Talk...pattern and style
I love this bedroom style...a bit shabby...a bit rustic...a bit modern...What works in this design is the final icing on the cake, which is the accent pillows. It starts with the lumbar pillow on the bed with a beautiful lattice motif, draped by a light blue quilt. It ends in a cute and curvy settee accented by a variation of pillows. Layered from a large modern pattern, to the bird pillow...it just works. Try it!
Happy Wednesday

I'm Back...
It's amazing how time goes by so quickly...I'm back to posting after a huge absence from blogging!
Many reasons for not being in contact with reality or too busy with work to write a few words...there are no excuses.
I will tell you that taking a walk on the beach is priceless. {see attached image}
