"My Favorite Flower"...

My conversations with clients always turn out to be interesting.  This time, {English couple} we ended up calling out our favorite flowers and mine is believe it or not the beautiful tulip.  I was amazed how they explain the process, how the weather and a specific place can affect the natural growth and color variations.  These images tell a story of color coordination which is applied to design every day!

"Silver Leaf"...a reintroduction

Silver Leaf disappeared for a little while but like everything else, trends always come back...with a different twist!  There's an elegance and glam to this style.  Because of that, I suggest just a few pieces when it comes to decorating.  Silver Leaf looks great combined with black, turquoise, white and may be a few others I can't think off.  Looking forward to a restful day and weekend with the family.

Restful Thursday to u all.

"Table For Two"...

I remember doing an article some time last year about decorating a little corner of any patio or back yard and making it very cozy and romantic.  I couldn't pass this image out without sharing it...Love the idea of a table for two.  It's intimate and such a statement.  Plant lots of flowers, on the ground or in flower pots.  Install a fountain or purchase one that's electric.  Make it pretty and conversational and enjoy this spring time season!

Enjoy!

"Cute Ideas"...

Cute idea for a bed skirt...this is a very casual, minimal sewing skills involved project.  You do need a sewing  machine to finish the ends, {instead of using a hem}.  Tide the corners with an elegant baseball stitching ribbon and voila...done!

Peaceful Jueves!

"Kid's Corner"...

It's been a while since I blog about kid's room decorating.  I completly fell in love with this camp cabin fever style.  I adore the srong bold color red mixed with natural pine furniture, very rugged!  It's so funtional because of the space planning.  The addition of the bunk beds is a great idea because it leaves room for other furniture.  My favorite piece is the closet doors.  How many times we have children's writing on the walls,  well, this awesome big chalk board is just brilliant!

Enjoy the day!

"Such Beautiful Weather"...

Here in Palm Beach, the weather is turning a bit windy, in preparation for Spring.  If you are by the beach, you can smell the fresh air of the ocean.  You can also admire the turquoise waters and their ripple sound effect.

Enjoy!

"Cute Quilt Idea"...for windows

So, if you have access to fabric samples or have left over textiles, here is a great way to recycle them.  Take a regular inexpensive vinyl blind and glue patterns randomly.  The colors can vary, depending on your taste.  I think this is great for a country home or even in a modern setting.  In a modern setting I would use modern shapes, stripes or solids.

Happy Wed...

"Pillow Talk"...daisy pillow

Loving this Thomas Paul Daisy pillow...so perfect to decorate around it.  A pillow like this one, inspires me to decorate a room around it.  It's shape and design is pushed to the side, leaving a blank canvas to appreciate the beauty of the cotton textile.  The finger welt is very elegant and simple at the same time.  Perfect pillow for the so waited spring time.

"Yellow Fever"...

As you can see in this image, designing a room based on one color is not too bad.  Mixing all types of yellow tones, from wall paint to bedding's makes the room calm and elegant.  Adding items such as natural organic baskets, in this case, a basket weave side table gives much character to the space.

Enjoy!

"Gina's Room"...continuation

Gina's Room is almost completed, just waiting for a few accessories on back order.  As I posted last week on the blog, Gina is a teenager who wanted a sophisticated room based on a color palette.  The chosen colors were grey, turquoise and silver.  Wall tones turn out very soft and calming, is like being by the ocean.

Because of a space issue, we thought about converting a corner, left of the closet into a vanity-storage area.  The idea was embraced and duplicating the furniture, a cabinet was created so Gina can sit down to put her make up.  The little footstool will act as a chair.  Its deep turquoise or aqua color stands out a lot, especially because of all the silver nail heads.

The platform bed is from by American Drew, a La-Z-Boy company.  Bed has drawers and shelves at the bottom for additional storage.  A tall chest was placed on biggest wall.  A flat screen TV, still needs to be mounted on the wall above chest.  The curtains are a classic heavy cotton with a grey embroidery design, hanging from silver hardware.  Only had room for one mirror night stand, may be I will order another one for the other side.  Can't wait for the rest of the items to arrive...

So Shabby!!!

"Color and Texture"...

I often have to be careful when it comes to selecting fabrics for curtains.  Sometimes textiles do not adapt to the design in mind, or maybe material will stretch or repeat will be hard to match; so it's a science.
Image, shows a beautiful combination of color and textile.  These stationary pinch pleated panels, even though are of a solid fabric, but because they have a horizontal, look stunning and sophisticated.  The fringe will add a final touch!

Happy Tuesday!
