"Makig Lamps"...teapot

I just adore the idea to make a lamp out of a fine piece of china.  This old teapot is the best example of a cute lamp, perfect for a guest bedroom or dining room.

Happy Tuesday...

"Plate Obsetion"...

A large percentage of us like to collect something.  How to display an item that repeats itself in shape or color is not easy to do.  I found these images of different ways to display plates.  Whether these plates are from the same brand name or antiques or a collection from places you perhaps have visited, display them with grace and style.  They can tell a story!

These lovely pillows I found are hand made.  The stitching is so precise and beautiful, it makes this item a unique find. It's like nature is calling!

"Happy Thanksgiving"...a la Sonoma

When it comes to Holiday meals, I always can count with the esquisit recepices of William Sonoma.  The one bellow is one of my favorites.  Please visit this link www.williams-sonoma.com for more details.

A long soak in a seasoned saltwater brine ensures the turkey will emerge juicy and exceptionally delicious. The salt penetrates deep into the meat, drawing in moisture while adding layers of flavor. Our turkey brine combines aromatic spices and sweet apples with tangy citrus zest and sea salt.

Ingredients:

1 jar (1 lb. 2.2 oz.) turkey brine—apple and spices

1 fresh turkey, 16 to 18 lb, neck, heart and gizzard removed (reserved, if desired)

8 Tbs. (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 Tbs. finely minced fresh thyme

1 Tbs. finely minced fresh flat-leaf parsley

1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper

Directions:

Prepare the turkey brine and brine the turkey according to the package instructions. Remove the turkey from the brine; discard the brine. Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Trim off and discard the excess fat. Let the turkey stand at room temperature for 1 hour.

Position a rack in the lower third of an oven and preheat to 400°F.

In a small bowl, stir together the butter, thyme and parsley until well blended. Gently slide your fingers under the breast to loosen the skin and work your fingers down to the thigh, being careful not to tear the skin. Spread half of the butter mixture evenly under the skin, then spread the remaining butter evenly on the outside of the turkey. Sprinkle with the pepper. Truss the turkey as desired using kitchen twine.

Place the turkey, breast side up, on a rack in a large roasting pan and roast for 30 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F and continue roasting, basting every 30 minutes with the pan juices. If the breast begins to cook too quickly, tent it loosely with aluminum foil. After about 2 hours of total roasting time, begin testing for doneness by inserting an instant-read thermometer into the thickest part of the breast and thigh, away from the bone. The breast should register 165°F and the thigh, 175°F. Total roasting time should be 3 to 3 1/2 hours.

Transfer the turkey to a carving board, cover loosely with foil and let rest for 20 to 30 minutes before carving. If desired, reserve the pan drippings for making gravy. Serves 12 to 14.

"Centerpieces"...for thankgiving

Loving these images of Simple table centerpieces for tomorrow Thanksgiving!  All we have to do is use what we have available and of course put our imagination to work.  A globe that you might be thinking of throwing away, may serve very well as a centerpiece.  Just add natural fillers, pine cones and some fall decor and you are done.

Enjoy the day!

"Decoraciones"...with felt

I always look for easy ideas when it comes to decorating my home with a quick stylish decorating solution.  This project is very easy and takes only a trip to the craft store, scissors, glue {non toxic} and existing picture frames.  Cut out felt leaves from a template or free hand, make sure to pick colors that look really earthy.  Glue into square felt and mount inside your favorite frame.  This little grouping looks fun and conversational.

Happy Tuesday,

xx

"Blue Monday"...

Wow! What a complicated and busy weekend this has been.  May be that's why I am so attracted to this design in image.  The calmness of this room is relaxing and inviting.  The way the roof line and lights were positioned is just perfect.  Makes me wish I was lounging on the Sofa.

Happy Blue Monday!

"Centerpieces"...for fall

I just love this decorating project...take a few small well rounded pumpkins and poke holes with a screwdriver or similar object in which a flower steam is going to fit.  Get fall looking flowers with soft yellows and mix with oranges.  The pumpkins themselves have the water and natural nutrients to keep flowers alive for a while.  Place them in pots or urns just like in image!

"I Would Never Think Of"...

I would never think of placing a writing table at the foot rest of a bed...but this design idea looks good-good-good.  I love the symmetry, the soft color palette and of course the textiles.  Makes me want to sit down and write a romantic love letter...or pay bills!

Happy Wednesday to all.

"Living With Orange"...objects

Living with orange objects is daring.  While other colors tend to intensify the eye, orange is considered as a mix of calmness and excitement.  Attached is a beautiful image of a space in which the orange tone is predominant source of inspiration.  The second image is one of uttermost orange-ginger jar lamps, very classic.  Then, there's the Giraffe Chair {this one is an eye stopper}.  The hand blown glass chandelier is just pure art.  The Bridal Kudan with the matching earrings are so beautiful, I think I prefer to frame it!

Enjoy the day!

"A Theme Of Inspiration"...in design

A theme of inspiration to start an interior design or decorating project is essential.  I adore these image because of its consistency, colors and layers.  You may notice birds everywhere, from the wallpaper to the pillow on the chair.  Image definitely sheers me up this Monday morning!...

Happy Monday to all...

"Something About Wool"...

There's something about Wool that makes me feel warm and cozy.  May be that's one of the reasons I love the Fall Season.  Wool being a heavy textile lends itself to many facets of interior design, fashion and crafts.  Having a wool scarf or colorful wool throws around the house is a most luxurious thing on earth...well one of them.

Check out the plate with the wool balls.  These are purchase at the local craft store for a reasonable price.  Take wool remnants and cut one inch strips, let the fabric flake a bit {looks shabby}.  Glue with a non toxic fabric adhesive and display them in your favorite bowl...

Relax and Enjoy the Season...

"Purple and Plum"...yum

A color I love for every fall and winter season are the purple mixed with plum.  There's a certain calmness  and cleanness with this two tones.  Both colores are so much in demand, whether in an eye catchingchandelier or may be a stunning modern  rug the color always keeps an elegance in itself.

Have a happy Thursday and don't work too hard!

"A Traditional Dining Room"...

This traditional dining room displays so many layers of texture and style.  Starting from the large area rug, which anchors a small but cozy round table {expandable}.  The furniture is not over crowded, for the contrary is very airy.  The bamboo shades add a casual organic texture, while the lighting is very elegant. Original Oil paintings are mixed with a porthole mirror, taking over the entire wall space.  There are lots of furniture in this room but the scale is in perfect harmony!

Hang in there! its Wednesday.

"My Favorite"...clock

Meet Tocky!  my favorite clock for the moment.  Tocky not only rolls out of your nightstand but it won't stop singing until you actually sitting in position {see photo}.  This baby can download music or record a greeting.  Tocky won't break when it falls, its silicone skin will protect it.  This color is my favorite because of the fall Season.  It will also make a great gift....genius!

Happy Tuesday
