Wow, AUGUST is gone! 
Today is Tuesday and I feel super lazy...just like to enjoy one nice glass of ice tea with friends and hang around in style.

"Symetry"...of two

The symetry of this living room is almost perfection.  Love the limestone fireplace with the ornate mirrow...Then we have Sets of Two.   The design idea when playing with symetry is to keep the repetition of two items more then one time.  Two Sofas, two topiaries, two large candleholders, etc.  This design idea is only based in pairs!

"Pillow Talk"...applique on pillows

Pillows can be design in so many creative ways!  One good example is in this image of several shape pillows.  When patterns are cut, they are also sewn on layers.  Applique style is in my opinion, when layers of fabric are gracefully attached to a solid background.  I can imagine how cute pillows will look on a sofa or on a special chair.

"South West Style"...with a modern twist

I remember very clearly designing  a room in my own house South West Style...This was using pastels and softer tones.  Well, those times are over.  The new Rich and Bold South West Style is better than ever.  It incorporates the large scale furniture with metal accents with a modern twist.  The Colors are typical brown and earthy tones, lots of leather and animal skins.  Image shows a couple of  chests with a white wash finished.  If you wanted to mix it a bit, add a anchlers chandelier and change the chest by bed and put a bench instead!

Lots of times I like to follow a specific geometric shape and repeat it several times.  Above are some examples of a great piece of art finished in stainless steel.  This layout can sure add dimension to any wall you choose to display it.  You can paint the wall space in a spicy red or a lime green, this modern piece will look Sharp...

Always getting inspired by making a product based on a traditional look...I enjoy so much making new lampshades in my studio. "Pillow Talk"...silk elegance

Lots of times I choose to keep things very simple but elegant. There's nothing like a couple of nice silk pillows with a tiny mini welt and a feather down insert. The feel of silk is sensual and always looks sharp in any type of design. See attached image, just a couple of orange pillows in a raw silk textile makes this modern chocolate brown sofa look like a million box!

This is a presentation board I just finished for a client. It's just a bit of inspiration based on the opinion and ideas gathered from an interview. Interviewing a future customer is fun and intriguing because it feels like I am a private investigator. I normally take time to listen and compile thoughts based on lifestyle, color, location and few other things...See a beautiful Sleep Sofa called the Marcus by La-Z-Boy Furniture, also the little stool is by them. Stool has a tray that flips into a seat and has storage {smart}.

August is finally here...Year is going by so, so fast! Anyways, I though of posting an image of the Helene's showroom and show off the beautiful combination of three of my favorite colors. Black, white and red are tones that will always make a bold elegant statement. Love the botanical prints from Spain. I also love the octagonal silver mirror above the prints and of course the little penguins to the right of the chest...
