"Pillow Talk"...sea grass-cotton-silk

Mixing textures is one thing I love to do when possible. Mixing textures such as sea grass, organic cotton and raw silk gives such an elegant touch! This Nautical-Modern look is refreshing and so much in fashion, I want to say it's timeless...

"Monograming"...chair covers

Monogramming...the chair covers is a very good way of getting a new look, without buying new furniture...{recycle}. With that being said, when making slip covers yourself or a professional seamstress, design it fun, simple and tailored!

Here is one of my favorite shabby chic project to do on a weekend. Take a picture frame apart, take matting and recover with the fabric of your choice...The finished frame will definitely look customized. Oh, and paint walls in red...don't be afraid of color.

"Architectural Jewels"...

Here is some of my favorite Savannah's architectural jewels. Love green the upside down corbels holding the white ornate balcony. The city street plumbing is all being updated, so there's a lot of construction going around.

This image is a combination of Moroccan style architecture mixed with a Gothic flower circles. I thought it was very unique.

This house somehow reminds me of the White House. Made with some coquina stone, looks impressive in its simplicity.

This brick house has been preserve to its best. Love the way Bay window dominates the middle of the building. Most houses have plantation shutters which can be found in so many different colors. Every house and buildings needs to have permission from its town Association in order to keep and preserve the heritage.
Indeed, Savannah is a beautiful city to visit! more to come

"Victorian Style"...

Wow, back from vacation feels weird sometimes. You don't know if you are happy to be back or not. Anyways, so vacationing in the Mid-West and the South was quite an experience. My favorite city was Savannah, Georgia. This image reminds me of the old city. The fresh white linens, against very old furnishings and lots of layers of pillows. A city indeed worth to visit and investigate the beauty of the architecture and gardens.
Buen Dia!

"The Perfect Lake House"...

Off on vacation in North West Arkansas. We were invited to visit the gorgeous and perfect Lake House were Steve and Barbie live. The 500 or more miles of wide open space lake view is just breath taking. The first image is their 3 story house with all the comforts you can think off. Next, our ride took us to caves and very natural spaces. Third, the girls are just relaxing! Last, there were the two shitzoo's who were adorable.
More to come!

"Pebble Tiles"...in bathrooms

The art of nature can be utilized in so many ways...Love this bathroom for its style, cleanness and organic feel. Pebble tiles can be applied to floors or back splashes and will always create a certain calmness to the room or space.
Wishing us all a calm Monday!

"Pillow Talk"...S-S-S

OMG, another Friday goes by...On pillow talk I wanted to blog about the three s's (Size-Scale-Style) A room is made up with items that we like and utilized in every day's life. We may add to that some collectibles or special items from travels, etc. Decorating and having a notion of scale is very important. I always recommend an interior designer or a professional certified decorator to interpret this vision. This image shows an example of a traditional room with very ornate furniture and accessories. The tufted sofa in particular has a camel back that travels very low into the arms, making this furniture more petite. The solution is displaying large size pillows with textiles that complement the period and style of the room!
Happy Weekend...

"Outdoor Spaces"...

It makes it so much easier when outdoor spaces are covered in some way. Whether space is protected by a screen enclosure or this fantastic clear tile roof, the idea is conservation, convenience and style. Start the party!

"A bench"...with style

I love this beautiful little bench for the foot of the bed. Warm wood tones, a leather top with nail heads and a bottom leather weaved shelf is the perfect spot to store pillows and blankets...

Have a great Wed...

"Bold Design"...green-yellow-black

Ever think how a design idea takes off...The main thing is to have a starting point. For example, the abstract art work in this image seem to be the inspiration for this bold design. Now, looking for furniture and accessories that coordinates to the design idea comes next. Image is a mix of vintage-modern-traditional pieces that are timeless...
Hope weather gets better here in Florida!

"Decorating For The 4th"...americana style

Just a few bold colors can change your house into the upcoming 4th of July celebration.
Adding a bit country style if permissible could be fun. Even in a modern setting we can throw a little red blue and white...
happy Thursday!
